Our Story
Bluffton Hair Lounge started with a simple idea: great hair, no pretense. Owner Marcela Suaza built this salon to be a place where clients could relax and leave looking their best.
Today the salon is award-winning and the highest rated salon in Bluffton. That is not because of marketing. It is because of hundreds of real clients who had a genuinely good experience and decided to tell someone about it. Our bilingual team (English and Spanish) serves everyone from Bluffton locals to visitors from Hilton Head and beyond.
The People Behind the Chairs
Marcela Suaza — Owner
Marcela grew up in Miami surrounded by family in their salon. She went on to work as an esthetician and professional makeup artist, including work with Bobbi Brown on TV and film sets. After relocating to the Lowcountry, she became a business partner and the driving force behind Bluffton Hair Lounge.
Jose Cristancho — Manager & Head Stylist
With over 30 years behind the chair, Jose earned the nickname "Edward Scissorhands" from clients who keep coming back. He manages the day-to-day and leads by example, whether it's a precise cut or mentoring newer stylists.
Our team of 10 stylists — including Jose — brings specialties across balayage, color correction, extensions, men's grooming, bridal work, and more. Many of our stylists have been here for years, which says something about the culture and about how well they are treated. Meet the full team.
Part of the Lowcountry
We are in Buckwalter Place, right off Buckwalter Parkway in Bluffton, SC. If you live here, you have probably driven past us a hundred times. If you are visiting from Hilton Head, Sun City, or Beaufort, we are an easy drive and worth the trip.
